
Rory Reid was raised in the Las Vegas Valley. He attended Brigham Young University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in international relations and Spanish in 1985. Reid continued at BYU, attending the J. Reuben Clark Law School. He earned a Juris Doctorate in 1988 and returned to Nevada to practice law.
At 30, he became the senior vice president and general counsel of a local company. After his tenure as corporate counsel, he became a partner at Lionel Sawyer & Collins, a Nevada law firm.
Reid has donated his time to numerous local, state and national political campaigns and served as the chairman of the Nevada Democratic Party. He co-founded Nevadans for Public Awareness and has donated his time as a Cub Scout Leader.
