Conservation and Water Management

conservation

Use water wisely outdoors.

Reducing Kyle Canyon's vulnerability to service interruptions requires a sustained conservation effort by residents and visitors. Conservation measures and the Water Management Plan address the various challenges to the Kyle Canyon water system. Water conservation is necessary to manage the demands on the water system and its wells.

Check your home for water efficiency

Kyle Canyon residents are eligible for a Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) Indoor Water Audit and Retrofit Kits, which includes a free low-flow showerhead, kitchen and bathroom faucet aerators and toilet flappers. You also may want to check your home for leaks, which waste water.

Use water wisely outdoors

Visit SNWA's website, snwa.com, for conservation and landscape tips. Make sure your irrigation system is in good condition and don't water your landscape if Kyle Canyon's water system condition reaches the Emergency Operating stage.

Don't waste water

If you waste water, you could be assessed a water waste fee on your bill. Water waste includes variety of violations such as allowing water provided by the Kyle Canyon Water District to flow or spray off your property. For more details, go to the Kyle Canyon water waste page.

Kyle Canyon Water Management Plan

The Las Vegas Valley Water District developed the Kyle Canyon Water Management Plan with input from the public. The purpose of the plan is to reduce water demands, promote conservation and prepare Kyle Canyon residents for potential water shortages and service interruptions. The plan identifies several mitigation measures that will improve water use efficiency and promote conservation to extend the use of local groundwater supplies.
